A Unique Opportunity For You To Get Involved

If you are interested in volunteering to help out with some of our events or projects then we would love to hear from you.  Send us a note via the More > Contact Us tab, or, if you just want to attend then that is fine too (either way keep an eye on our News page, the Workshops or Projects pages, our Facebook page or Next Door (Pond Park) page).

We are especially grateful for community grant support from Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council (LCCC) for our workshops and projects.

Our chairperson, John Belshaw, invites you to a BIG BIRTHDAY BASH & CHARITY FUNDRAISER.  SAT 18 JUNE, from 8pm.

Venue:  The Artbarn, Drumcill Rd, Lisburn.

This fundraiser is GUARANTEED to be a night of great craic with different music types on both indoor and outdoor stages.

BOOK your ticket through John and he will donate £5 per person to Chest Heart & Stroke Association and Action Cancer.

Tickets are £10 each which includes food. Additional charity donation boxes on site.

Indoors & outdoors under cover seating areas.  Bring Your Own Bottle or avail of the Tiki-bar on site.

A night of craic and help raise funds for local charities. Visit the sculpture and artworks gallery on site also.

1st February

Please come to Maghaberry Community Centre and place your vote for our community bee hive  project at a LCCC 'Grand Choice' voting day.  We hope that volunteers from the wider Killultagh electoral area will also get involved in a unique environmentally themed project.

To really enable the project to get going, we really need locals to go along on 1st February and vote for our project amongst those on show.

February - June
Community Bee Hive Project

Thanks to all those that voted for our community bee hive project at the 1 Feb LCCC Grand Choice voting day.  We have now been awarded a LCCC grant for this exciting project.  If you live in the Killultagh Electoral Area and especially if you are from the Whitemountain area and you might have an interest in the setting up and early running of a bee hive then send us a  quick note through the Contact Us tab.

As Bees are in effect wild creatures and can sting we need to restrict the numbers and age groups that can be involved in activities at the hive itself.  Site prep, hive building and set up is possible for all to be involved in but hive management will be restricted to over 18 years of age.  Working party days will usually be on a Saturday and to be involved you will need to be able to commit to a number of Saturday morning or afternoons and maybe some evenings up to middle of June.

This is another first for WDCA and we hope to hear from you.

29th February

If you are interested in helping prepare the site (a bit of 'gardening' and dead-hedge fence building) then get in touch via the contact us tab.
